Travel and visas
TravelSydney is easy to reach for nearly all universities in the region on a single direct flight (apologies to those from the University of Otago!). Sydney is also a major airline hub, so there are direct or one-stop flights from many international destinations. The University of Sydney is a short distance from the city centre with plenty of buses to the city centre and Sydney Central station or a 20 minute walk. A rail service connects Sydney Airport with Central station, although if more than one person is travelling, a taxi is often cheaper.
How to get to the University of Sydney
AccommodationThe area directly around the university is a little light on accommodation, but there are plenty of youth hostels and hotels near the city centre.
VisasGenerally speaking, if you're an Australian or New Zealand citizen, then you probably won't need a visa to attend SANZMAG-1, but attendees from elsewhere will need to check what the requirements are with the Department of Immigration and Citizenship. Please allow plenty of time for your visa application and please check carefully on the requirements as we cannot be held responsible for lost, delayed or denied visa applications.
